The MCImportTool V2500 was written by Accruent (technically Maintenance Connection LLC before they were bought by Accruent) with the sole intention of allowing an initial system setup.

Do NOT use it on a live system after setup.

It assumes the database has no live data in, that all the data being entered is the initial system status.

This means for things like inventory, it will corrupt historical values (like current quantity)

It means for things like assets it can do other damage such as the tree.

We do not track all the other possible ways it can corrupt a live system, we stopped using it for most purposes in 2005.

So what to do if you want to import?

The MCe DataHub is the MC tool designed to import after the system is set up.

If you use the MCImportTool V2500 after setup,

• if you import assets, at a minimum, rebuild the MC and MCe hierarchy trees.
• If you do anything with transactional data, expect to have to manually repair it.
